Event attendees could also win big at
Joliet ’s Race Fan Rally
Joliet , ILL. – Final plans are in place for the Joliet Race Fan Rally starting this Thursday, July 8 th at 4 p.m. at Chicago Street in downtown Joliet . Event organizers named a participating driver, Reed Sorenson, driver of the No. 32 Dollar General Toyota will be on stage Thursday night. Sorenson, now a top driver in the Nationwide Series, had a successful career in the Sprint Cup Series starting in 2006.
“This year’s event promises to be one of the best ever,” said Tom Mahalik, Vice President, Joliet City Center Partnership. “Each year we succeed in topping the last, and this year’s 10 th annual Race Fan Rally is shaping up to do just that.”
NextMedia, Race Fan Rally’s exclusive radio partner, is offering the most promotional giveaways in the history of the event. Event attendees can register to win several prizes at this year’s event, including a 4-day cruise to the western Caribbean, and concert tickets to rock superstars Aerosmith, and country music legends Brooks and Dunn, and Toby Keith. Over 40,000 fans are expected to attend the event, which is free and open to the public.
Registration to win the cruise and country music tickets will take place at the WCCQ tent at the event, while registration to win Aerosmith tickets will be at the WJOL, WRX and WSSR booths. All prizes are sponsored in part by Budweiser.
Race Fan Rally will also feature musical entertainment by Cowboy Troy and the Penny Mae Dixon Band, NASCAR showcars, simulators, an interactive KidZone, food from local restaurants and classic cars from local motorsports enthusiasts.
Other national sponsors of Race Fan Rally include Nationwide, Harrah’s, the National Guard and Great Clips.
The Joliet Race Fan Rally is an annual family-friendly festival in Downtown Joliet kicking off Chicagoland’s NASCAR race week. The event is free and open to the public, and includes live bands, race car driver appearances, show cars and other motorsports exhibits.
