Joliet’s Race Fan Rally Announces Event Entertainment
JOLIET , Ill. – Producers of The 10 th Annual Race Fan Rally in Joliet , IL announced today that Cowboy Troy and The Penny Mae Dixon Band will be the headliner for the July 8 th event. The national music act will entertain thousands of race fans on Harrah’s Joliet Entertainment Stage, located on Chicago Street in Downtown Joliet across from the Rialto Theatre. An estimated 40,000 fans are expected to pack downtown Joliet streets for the kick-off Chicagoland’s Race Week.
Cowboy Troy has been featured by many national media outlets including the Tonight Show, Rolling Stone, Time, USA Today and he has co-hosted the TV show Nashville Star on the USA Network.
“We are very excited to sponsor the entertainment for the Race Fan Rally event again this year,” said Mary Riley, Harrah’s Joliet regional vice president of marketing. “Race fans will enjoy two stages of popular national and local bands from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. , with the day’s festivities ending with our annual fireworks display.”
A second and third stage at the event will host popular area bands including the The Righteous Hillbillies - made up by four rowdy, tattooed, story tellin’, bottle bangin’, foot stompin’, ax-slingin’, hillbilly gentlemen - who have made blues rock and outlaws like Johnny Cash their idols. In addition, the talented trio known as the Cadillac Casanovas will perform a wide variety of 1950's Rock & Roll and Rockabilly, pulling out all of the classic tunes from the decade that dominated juke boxes around the globe. The musical entertainment will share the stages with famous drivers from the NASCAR race at Chicagoland Speedway. The official 2010 Race Fan Rally driver lineup will be announced soon.

The Joliet Race Fan Rally is an annual family-friendly festival kicking off Chicagoland’s Race Week in downtown Joliet , Illinois . The event is free and open to the public, and includes live bands, race car driver appearances, show cars and motorsports exhibits.
